If you do a little research and are patient, you can pretty much guaranteed get a cool vintage lapsteel for under $200 on teh fleabay. Valco, National, Airline, Supro, Silvertone, Oahu, Dickerson, Magnatone, Electar, Kay, and some I'm sure I'm missing.
