That's a little overpriced IMO.

If you're into the whole string thru pickup thing - which the traditional steel cats seem to love, not me, gets in the way for heavy palm muting - here's a cheapie.

Yeah sure seems that way. I'm a sucker for art deco.

Cool! I actually don't know anything about string thru pickups. Why do the traditional guys like them?

Toanz, I supposed. Wider magnetic field should mean more clarity. They look cool.

If you do a little research and are patient, you can pretty much guaranteed get a cool vintage lapsteel for under $200 on teh fleabay. Valco, National, Airline, Supro, Silvertone, Oahu, Dickerson, Magnatone, Electar, Kay, and some I'm sure I'm missing. Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker tend to be substantially pricier, but every so often one sneaks through cheap.

Pretty much that. ^^^

Not to steer anyone away from a Rondo, but those things look super cheap. You get what you pay for.

I'd take a vintage steel over a new one any day. It's a much better value.

You're a little late to this thread, lapsteel. I expected you to get here sooner.
