Re: Doomographics
28
6'5"
Size 15 shoes
Bout 250-260lbs
No mental issues really, my ego died a long time ago. (Thanks psychedelics!)
Parental income: Single mom raised 2 kids on 12$/hr and my shithead racist dad barely paid pay child support. You figure it out.
Marital status: Recently out of a 5 year deal. Feels really good.
Housing: None. Couches of friends.
Employment: None. Free as a bird. Well playing shows gets me beer/smoke money.
Musical influences: YOB, Indian, Bongripper, John Frusciante (not RHCP), Tim Buckley, Camel, Silver Mt Zion, Appalachian folk music
In 2 bands. One doom duo where I sing and play guitar/noise shit. One instrumental spacey sludge band where I play bass.
Open F# tuning for guitar and drop F for bass.

Re: Doomographics
OK, stats, height weight, shoe size, psychological background, childhood medical issues, gross annual income of parents, the works
-5'10", vary from 160-170lbs
-Shoe size 11
-Pretty misanthropic for the majority of my life, anxiety/depression problems but never severe enough to address to anyone I knew, finally breaking out of all that slowly as of late
-almost 3 months premature, as a result I have Spina Bifida, Scoliosis, and Spinal Stenosis. I didn't know anything was wrong until I was about 14, just thought that back pain was something everyone felt so I never said anything. Still just suck it up and live life, I don't know any different so it's not so bad.
-grew up rather wealthy when I was younger, I'd say upper middle class, together my parents made about 150k a year or more. When I hit about 12 a slew of shit happened and my parents haven't hardly worked since, just recently hit the ass end of their savings so my teenage life was a bit different than I had expected, still always ate well and didn't struggle too hard.
-into music at an early age, in 3rd grade I bought a Wilco CD on a whim and it grew from there
-my brother in law (sister is a decade older than me) gave me Annihilation Of The Wicked when I was 12 and my interest in heavy music skyrocketed, couldn't believe what I was hearing
-Biggest influences would be Slayer, Deafheaven, Gorguts, Coffinworm, Indian, A Silver Mt. Zion, My Bloody Valentine and David Bowie, I'm fucking all over the place and I kind of hate it

Re: Doomographics
I'm turning 20 next month.
192cm
90 kg
Size 13
I grew up in Israel, Ghana, and The Netherlands. Contracted bilharsia when I was like 6 or some shit. Still gonna test positive for that.
I am a surprisingly normal person, no history of mental issues of any weird emotional shit.
I work at a "pancake farm" used to work in the sales industry but got tired of scamming people for cash. I'm starting my bachelors next year.
I'm that big guy with the snapback hat on at the Sleep show who is to baked to talk to you, but spends hours hanging out after the show chilling with people.
Drop A into a HM-2 or die.
Started playing bass at 12, started guitar at 14.
I will smoke nearly anything that grows out of the Earth. I have no stomach for hard liquor but I do enjoy beer.
The first record I bought with my own cash was Obituary's "Frozen In Time".
My biggest musical influences are Entombed, Kyuss, Nasum, and Sleep.
Played in bass in Metal and Tech Death bands for like 6 years.
Currently a vocalist for Meadows.

Re: Doomographics
Sam, 38, 188 cm, 94kg, slightly overweight...and hairy
married, one child (1.5 years old)
Child hood illnesses included bad croup, and asthma, including multiple trips to hospital (once a month) till my mid teens and asthma till about early 30's.
No diagnosed mental issues, but i did write about 3 poetry books, 2 of which i published myself. My mum read both and cried each time and begged me to get therapy as she thought i was suicidal and depressed...which was kind of right, but don't think i would have done anything to harm myself
This part may sound a bit wanky, but it all went to shit...My parents were from very high class families, mum's side were close to the monarchy in Iran and dads side were big land owners...dad was also high level exec in Iran air based in London during the 70's...don't know their earnings at the time, but they tell me stories of their life, things like being members of the playboy club, and having designer everything including a chanel dinning table which was basically the intertwined C's as the base, in black marble and thick glass top and so on...long story short, our luxury life in London ended when we were called back to Iran during revolution (1980) and then escaped Iran to Australia...all our belonging were taken and the only money we had we took to australia and got shafted by a guy who basically stole our money and said if we complain he would turn us over to the Iranian consulate who would send us back. As a result my mum then worked in retail and my dad worked as a taxi driver...for a good 10 years before my dad started his own business and we got back to living in a house and being middle-class.
Almost dropped out of school in my teens, but then repeated the second last year of school and got my shit together and went to uni etc. Now I work as a Finance Director, which is ok, only problem i have is i don't like capitalism and hate working in a corporate firm and worst of all, i don't like finance that much. So been doing a lot of different things on the side to keep my sanity, including writing, acting, and playing music
I started listening to metal when i was 10, through my older brother, first tape was a misfits, then early AC/DC...then Iron Maiden...then bought Metallica Master of Puppets when i came out and that was it...thrash metal, death metal, every other type of metal. These days, its doom...blues, classical, Iranian folk music, classic rock. My main influences are Metallica, Opeth, YOB (very recently), Iranian Folk music and anything else i'm listening to at the time.
Never did drugs growing up (apart from bulbs and sniffing surgical spirits in the back of economics class) and drank a bit here and there, but nothing like my friends did.
Bought first guitar at 12, Gibson Humingbird copy...then got my first electric at about 13/14 played in a band with my brother for a couple of years, then played on and off for the next 15 years, before really getting back into it about 6 years ago and been playing every day. Was in a band (Souls of Osiris) which i'm still writing music for although i have no band!, currently working with another guitarist on a new band Librarian.
My biggest love growing up was skating and did that till i was in may late 20's before the falls started hurting too much...have been wearing black hi-top Vans and slim/tight blue jeans for the majority of my life! I'm almost 40 now, and still wear the same stuff and have a thick black beard.
I do like the finer things...and apart from collecting gear, i also have a Fountain Pen collection, which at last count was about 30 odd pens and about 20 odd bottles of ink...and i take my notebooks very seriously!

Been playing bass since I was 15. Early influences were Les Claypool/Primus and the like.
Never really had any health issues as a kid, mostly just being overweight. At age 18 I was 260 lbs, but as I transitioned into my early 20's, I began to thin out. Although, when I was 17 I had a torsion of my left testicle. That was the most horrendous thing I've ever dealt with in my life. Shit swelled up to the size of a baseball and was excruciatingly painful. No joke. Unfortunately by that time it was DOA and I had to have it removed.![]()
Kept me out of school for a good 4 months and held me back a year in high school. Luckily I'm still able to have children, which was a big question mark for a little while after the procedure was done.
So, uh, yeah...TMI time is over for me lulz
Man, I'm glad to hear you can still have kids. It would kill me if I couldn't make my own poop monsters.

Yeah Axx...always thankful to the parents for giving up everything and including pride to save my brother and I from that shit life.
Thats really shit about PTSD...How bad is it?
Also, notice, musical influence, that shit is exactly what i use to listen to...i remember brother and I use to have a meal after school whilst watching some video clips before heading out skating till night time...the playlist always included Possessed to Skate!
I actually think is Suicidal had kept going they would have been part of the Big 4 instead of either Anthrax or Megadeth.

Re: Doomographics
I'm 28
Approximately 6'0 and 160lbs
Make my living as a therapist and have been a psychology professor on the side.
First person on both sides of my extended family to earn a bachelors degree. My mom was a year behind me. She got her masters six months before I got mine. Still super proud of her for that.
One wife and one kid, who is 7 months old. She is a loveable little tyrant.
We own our house, but bought before kids when we were both super career oriented. Now my wife wants to be able to stay at home with the little one as much as possible, which means we may be renting again in the near future.
I get semi-depressed for a few days every now and then and get really anxious about stuff randomly. Whatever it is isn't really diagnosable based on symptoms, and doesn't get in the way of my day to day too much, so I don't really worry about it.
I cannot stand to see things swing. I think I might be the only one like that. Vertical blinds will almost give me a fucking panic attack. That has to be some sort of mental health issue, but I've never found anything about it
Grew up in a middle class family that lived like they were lower middle class since dad liked to squirrel away his money. Unfortunately for me, he decided to piss it all away between the time that he and my mom divorced, and the time he died, so that was bullshit.
Had cancer of the balls when I was 22, but have been healthy other than that.
No traumatic childhood shit. Just white trash revelry with my friends.
Love drinking. Loved weed, but real jobs ruined that for me years ago.
Started playing guitar when I was like 15. My earliest guitar influence was Kurt Cobain. "In Bloom" is the song that made me want to play guitar. I got into bro-rock and numetal shit in high school, and finally found my way to the good heavies once I was in college. All of it has had a lasting impact on the way I play.
I generally keep my guitars in drop C, Eb standard, and/or drop C#
I probably play at less than half the volume most of you play, and I don't mind it most of the time.
