Whiskey and any of you other mother fuckers who rescued bully breeds: BLESS YOUR BLACKENED HEARTS.
All y'all with cats: cats are some chill mother fuckers but i don't want 'em shittin' in my house and showing me their brown eyes -- good on y'all for making their lives rad

lucy is watching a rabbit. she is a boxer pit bull mix. her best friend is a big ol' chow chow named samson. they're fucking wrestle buddies.
she loves all people. she licks them to death. she has too much energy and is an asshole.
one time she laid behind a drum kit and beat on the bass drum head with her tail.

Looking through these made me miss my dog:
Image
He's a lab/german shepard mix.
Lives with my parents where he has tons of land to run around on.
He's a crazy jerk, and howls really loudly whenever I get home.
Very smart, he knows a lot of commands, but is super stubborn and insubordinate.
All in all, he's a pretty great dog.

Awesome looking pups (and Kittehs) all around.
Very cool that everyone seems to be into the rescue route of fur acquisition.
All of ours are from the pound or a rescue group.

Dogo, the Dogo, was the worst off of the bunch. He was 9 years old, weighed about 70 lbs, was recovering from an embedded collar and had lived most of his life in a crate. Nobody wanted him so we couldn't pass him up. He got VERY ill shortly after we got him. Wouldn't eat, barely moved, was scary for a bit there. the vet prescribed antibiotics and it wasn't seeming to help. I cooked a mixture of garlic, carrots, broccoli, rice, chicken, beef, elk and lamb. that got him eating again and he gained the weight back. He's a happy healthy 120 lbs now. He's still not as active as he should be but we love the hell out him. I don't know how much longer he'll stick around with us but the wife and I have already discussed another Dogo when the time comes. I love all bully breeds but these guys kick some major ass.

Skip to about 2:40 for a story about the best friend these kids could have had in a scary situation.

This is Lucy- got her as a rescue at 7 wks old. She's 10 yrs now and may not be around too much longer; we've spent about 3 grand over the last few months, removing cancerous lumps.

Here's my boy Steve, trying to swallow his friend Roxy. I had a pal tattoo him on my arm a couple years ago:

Mah dogs. The brown one is a 9 year old Beagle/Lab mix. She's pretty and loves people. I still don't know if she is smart and stubborn or just dumb. The white one is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is insane and super smart and has limitless energy. He also has a strange bark because he spent all of his time around the Beagle - which means he kinda sounds like a hound too

Evidence supporting the pretty and stupid theory:

Here's my cat. Well, she was my wife's cat from before we started dating. She's pretty rad, but had a stroke or some shit after we adopted Jack. She's still rad but now she kind of walks funny and gets overstimulated pretty easily, so we just kind of pet her when she wants and let her do her thing.

THAT DOG TATTOO IS AMAZING!!!! I kind of want to get one of my girl Mimi but she's getting on in years pretty badly now and I'm not sure I could stand to look at it after she's gone.

Image

L - R: Stampy, Mimi, Maggie.

Stampy's real name is Pancho. He was the first foster dog we took on. The woman we adopted him out to ended up being not suitable so he came back to live with us full time.

Mimi is my wife's family dog, I met her on like our third date or something and she pretty much adopted me at that point and hasn't left me alone since. She came to live with us when we bought a house and is now my little companion. She has her own bed underneath my art desk so she can hang out with me when I'm working at home. If I could find poodle sized ear protection I'd take her to band practice and shows.

I wanted to call Maggie 'Cheeseburger' but wasn't allowed. She's an ex show dog who is happier rolling in the nearest dead thing than being all shampooed and brushed. Even by poodle standards she's ridiculously intelligent, like she worked out how to open the baby gate in our house using toys as rudimentary tools. When we got married Mimi stood at the podium with me and Maggie came down the aisle with my wife. I FUCKING LOVE DOGS.

We've got a new foster girl coming on wednesday too. Tentatively named her Clara.

here's mine. i still can't show photos of dogs without including a picture of my old pancho. he passed away this past fall and i still think of him every day. i found him on the street in atlanta as a puppy eating out of trash cans, which was pretty much what i was doing with my life at the time so it seemed like a good fit. he became my soul mate and lived with me for almost 16 years. here's an old phone pic of a picture of him when he was young.
Image

here's our two little turds on a bed. on the left is my dog harvey. i got him about five years ago when someone threw him out of a truck in a park with his skull bashed in. i was going to just find him a good home 'cause i didn't think i needed a second dog at the time and i thought i wasn't into small dogs. but he's awesome and i fell in love with him. on the right is methuselah, my girlfriend's dog. he's crazed and a handful and has a huge personality for such a little dude. he's awesome.

Image

here's the boss. my girlfriend's cat. such a cool cat and great at dealing with these dogs.

Image

and this thread seems like a great place to share the new one for the first time! brand new dog to our lives! she's been living at our house for 5 days now and we are in the process of formally adopting her from a local pit bull rescue. she's had a rough short life at only two years old. she was found with six other dogs that were part of a back yard pit bull breeding operation. they were all living in separate small outdoor kennels with little human contact. the owners had been in jail for six months on drug charges or something and the dogs were abandoned in their kennels. a neighbor had been bringing them food and water and eventually found the rescue that could come help them. she's been in foster homes since then for about six months. she's about the sweetest most good natured dog you could imagine. well behaved, though she still needs some real training which she's never had. she gets along with everyone. loves dogs and has been even trying to gently play with the cat, but runs away when he hisses or swats. she's friendly as can be with people, good mannered in public. such a great dog and really unbelievable for all she's been through.

That story about Pancho is really rad.

Your lady's cat looks like it would probably be the boss of the dogs.

The new dog looks like a sweetie
