Now i can compare it to my Kiwi buddys 3-knob-version.
Well, then... When it arrives this side of the pond.

my hunch is that the your and you're might be a better match for bass, but curious as to other experiences.
The Count to 5 is awesome with bass. Ordered a Puhzing which I figure is going to be silly fun but also may be good for wacko synthy bass.

Tried it, wasn't crazy about it.
why not? just curious...i didnt love it on bass at first and thought it was too dark but after experimenting for a while im finding out its pretty versatile.

I guess it's just that it seemed kind of muffled compared to other drives I've used on bass.

I mean, they don't really compare since the Y&Y is a gated oscillating glitch fuzz and the Positive is a Hotcake.

My comparison was in "do they work with bass" rather than "do they do exactly the same thing". For some bass applications, particularly in a band mix, it comes down to some degree of bass mangling rather than nuance of how you're getting there. But I'm not a heavy dirt-o-phile so totally YMMV. Heresy I know...

I've had a CNCed Positive for a long time and it has kept its spot on my board
Hot Cake (Positive) into a Marshall head that's breaking up is also a sound that I really enjoy.
Edit: All this, on guitar. Haven't tried it with bass..

It's a smidge congested on guitar too. Just the nature of this circuit, I think. (For you scope jockeys:

So, solder away, stay away from the neck PUP, or stack it with a fizzy OD. Ymmv, yolo, and c.

counterpoint: Positive is best on bass.

I just saw a green (ala the Y&Y) on reverb. Are all the new positives green like that or was that a glitch in the matrix?

Nah, they're more of an earthy yellow. Fits the color pallet with the Y&Y green well. Just a weird lighting/white balance issue on that one for sale on reverb.

Nope, the latest batch of Positive (at least the one I received last week) is EXACTLY the same color as my 2016 YAY

I just hope that nobody pulls a Doommeow for ILFSS because I want to continue being the only one with a forest green Positive.

I love mine!
It smoked the 3-knob OG from my buddy for breakfast.

Which position on the Mids switch is Flat, and which is Mid-Scooped?
