Nah everything else looks good, just make sure you have that hot wire going to the longer lug and not the lug that shows the silver ring on top. The latter is ground

Are you still referring to the input jack or somewhere else?

Also I remember someone mentioning that the grounds that are attached to the body underneath the pickups should be attached to the pickup housing or covers, not the pots. If so how would I solder on, the covers are plastic and I'm afraid I would melt the pickups if I tried to solder directly on it.

I've never attached the body grounds to the actual casing/housing of any pickup that I've had in any of my guitars and they've all worked out just fine

If they are single coil pickups they will be more noisy than humbuckers.

Yeah I definatly understand that. I have used the guitar with the rhythm section intact. The hum/noise almost defeats the guitar signal so it is definatly some grounding issues. I am really having trouble on what is not grounded properly. Really stumped here. Should I de-solder the two body grounds and see what it does?

and just leave the ground from the bridge thimble on?

Also another question, would having everything screwed in (including pickups) affect the grounding? I have been doing the tests with anything screwed in where I am getting lots of noise.

Thanks,
