Story time!

So, as I said before, this was my dad's guitar. I remember it from my childhood. My dad died under mysterious circumstances 16 years ago (officially a suicide, but nobody believes it) and the guitar vanished. This was in Tucson, AZ. Well, fast forward to a month ago. My great grandmother passes away and while cleaning out her disgusting storage building, we find this guitar, some guns, folders full of artwork, and like 30 fake IDs with my dads picture but different names and birthdays. No idea how the stuff got there. And the guitar, which was wrapped in a rug, is in amazing condition. Strings are rusted, but all the electronics work. No mold or water damage or anything.

So, its probably haunted. Maybe my ghost dad will inspire some spooky riffs.

It pretty great. Part of me wants to clean it up and sell it or trade it for a nice bass, but I know I'll immediately hate myself.

Where can I get replacement knobs? I've never nodded or repaired an instrument before.

You can get replacement knobs lots of places.

If you're gonna take it to a tech to get set up, they'll most likely have some you'll like.

If not, you can get 'em from a guitar shop or an online guitar parts supply store or something.

I need to take it by the repair shop here and see what they can do for me. I think I'll do that today. First, I'm gonna look up the serial number real quick. Will report back.

just dropped it off at the tech. neck needed adjusting and Im having him put a 7 string set minus the highest string so itll be tuned to BEADGB or something. i just know i want it in the baritone range. ordering some new knobs. maybe metal or bone or something equally br00tal. Gonna order a new strap. super stoked.

I agree! I'm just going to need a knob to replace the lost one. So I'm probably going to get a full set, but that's pretty much it. The rest of it is pretty perfect.
