The aria and ibanez both sound pretty neat. I really want a flanger hoax and have found one for cheap but the weird power requirements scare me away every time.

right? I have a thing against stuff that you can't easily daisy chain. it really helps me spend less money. I feel like the Hoax has so many knobs I'd probably use it more for a table top noise thing or something. that makes the power requirements a little more justified in my head.

I'll always back up the Ibanez PM-7, except that switch does kinda suck. & the clock noise. BUT THE CHEAPS & CRAZY SOUNDS.
Also you can use it as a static phaser by turning the depth all the way down and twisting the manual knob. Baller.

I will echo everyone else's sentiment: pm-7 for teh cheapz. Cosmichorus for everything else. There's a demo in my sig (somewhere, am browsing on my phone) with som lasery ring mod sounds, flange sounds, rad chorus sounds... It's all in the cosmi and the vid only covers a fraction of all the stuff it can do.

Worth mentioning that certain chorus pedals which have stereo outputs can also provide a vibrato effect (like the Boss VB2 Vibrato*) if one puts a dummy jack in one of the outputs. That can give raygun type sounds.

The Aria CH-05 I mentioned above can do that.

(* Btw, I gather the Behringer Ultra Vibrato UV300 is a knockoff of the Boss VB2)

Hahaha wow that was NOT your typical chorus video!! No Police riffs? No other classic 80's tunes, covered poorly? Well I never!!!!!

What, you missed the wash of Andy Summers tones and etherealness in the demo?

Flanger is always fun but if you need raygun noises, I'd say phaser is the best for that.

I thought Andy Summers actually used flange (oeh er) rather than chorus on that, er, classic Police sound?

If you want flanger, chorus, phaser and more check out the Source Audio Orbital Modulator. Can do a lot of the things mentioned in this thread, get whacky, and has two presets available. All for just slightly above you're budget new. I see them go for about $140 used.
