Rigs as Shrines?

My wife calls an entire side of our living room 'my corner'
I sit indian style for hours in front of my amps and pedals just zoning out playing stuff over and over and over again

Build up toward the sky and you will be free:

When I first learned about shrine building in my folklore class I had this weird epiphany about a parallel between gear and shrines. Ever since I tend to think of the time I spend practicing kneeling in front of my amp and pedals not only as just practicing, but also as a form of sound worship.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this kind of thing. I've spent a lot of evenings zoning out to my own drones.

I'm guilty of doing this too... sometimes I just kneel in front of my setup for an hour having a blast with the fb loop and everything. It really is kinda like sound worship. LET'S START A CHURCH, GUYS! There are only benefits... We could make awesome gear and not pay taxes, because it's our churches believe that you only get absolution with toanz. Image

Wata doesn't look so much like she's worshipping as she looks like she's wondering if that triple stack is going to fall and crush her.
