I generally hate the sound of chorus. But I bought an EHX Poly Chorus anyway. One of the most warped sounding yet useful pedals I've ever come across.

I've been using an Ibanez RC99 for ten years or so. It has a mix and delay time controls and out of phase stereo outputs, it sounds really thick an CHEWY, I absolutely love it. Put some gain in front of it, twiddle the knobs and it starts to oscillate and do siren noises. In fact, it can do most of the sound sit produced in a feedback loop on its own. The Rotary Sim is pretty cool too. I think this box is amazing, yet no one seems to talk about them much. I don't know how much they're going for now, but If you grab one you wont regret it.

i seem to remember hearing good things about all of those ibanez xx99 effects, including a bitchin' phaser and flanger.

The Poly Chorus is a monster. There's so much you can do with it. If I only had that and my Shoe Gazer I'd get along just fine.

I set a DOD GFX 75 really low-- it's pretty chorusy. :yay:

I'd like a Small Clone, though-- for modding reasons. That and a Holy Grail. : D

What sort of mods would you do on the Small Clone? I really like the way it sounds, but it's mono.... which rhymes with Bono... and that makes me stabby.

jdavyd wrote:i built a clone of the Boss CE2 using true bypass, all metal film resistors, and audiophile caps. it's my go-to. i also have a guyatone micro chorus that i like for really fast, wobbly sounds, and the visual sound chorus in the H20 for an alternate sound to the CE2 clone.

i also have a boss digital dimension that stays on all the time.

(i'm a chorus freak)

i so want one of the Fromel Lush pedals

at the moment im running the behringer space chorus, which is a KICKASS CD2 clone, £27 too

i adore proper chorus sounds, i dont like all this small clone just so people can play "come as you are"

most underrated effect ever.

What's not proper about the Small Clone sound? :poke:

It's just a different delay time that gives it that slapback feel. That's why I want the Redwitch, that's the only one I know of that allows you to adjust said delay time.

Oh, welcome to the forum!!

Aen's post reminded me... sometimes I set the HOG to bend up or down very, very slightly. Cool effect, and you can use the expression pedal to go into all sorts of awful dissonance!

the Kurt cobain connotations just get me, besides it sounds very digital and 80's eww.

check the rocktron tsunami if you like a slapbacky chorus, i like it too, adds a whole dimension and lushness to the sound, i often use a really short DD with my chorus, only a tiny amounts of repeats and quite high mix, sonic.

Never heard Kurt's tone described as 80's, but hey, what you hear is what you hear.

I tried it with a Big Muff w/ wicker (which is pretty flacid by itself) through an Orange Rocker 30 and it sounded fantastic to me. There are a LOT of cool choruses out there, something for everyone.

Cheers.
