I've owned the POG, POG2, Micro POG, boss oc2 & oc3, almost every incarnation of digitech whammy, the digitech harmony man, mxr blue box...I think the only one I haven't messed with yet is the EQD Organizer, but I will eventually. The OM might be a little glitchy but man it sounds so cool.
I agree, they are awesome
my point of reference being that our second guitarist's sound heavily consists of playing stuff with an Octave Multiplexer into a fuzzface. Every knob is on full blast on the OM
other than that, MXR Bass Octave is pretty cool and cheap... the Danos sound too rubbery to my ears

Honestly the reason why i like the Dano is because it doesnt sound rubbery and sounds pretty organic IMO.

Most of them are pretty much the same as the oc2 (and other analog octavers)...Chili Dog, the Arion one, Octoplus. A couple years ago you could find them all for $25ish (minus the oc2), but it seems prices have gone up a bit. The oc2's have definitely shot up.
The octoplus has the tone control to its benefit as well as the awesome name

The Dano Black Licorice is a heavy distortion with an octave down switch. Pretty brutal. Sold mine
If you can solder you could always build the Pearl OC-07 (Madbean Low Rider pcb). It has 1&2 octave down, clean, and octave up.

Man, I've wanted a Blue Box for like 10 years and somehow managed to never get one. I should just fucking get one already. Sheesh.
SHEESH.

You should. You need another dirt pedal after it in my opinion, but I guess that's not a problem here on ILF

Yeah I got mad dirt 2 stack. I was turned off by the volume drop design problem, but I think I'm brave enough these days to attempt to clip C11 as is recommended by the oracles.

Because I always use it before another dirt pedal, I didn't even do the C11 mod as it is not noticeable then. I really like to stack it with my RAT (or more aggressive fuzz/fuzztortion type pedals)

I'm not saying it sounds bad. Not at all. Guitarist in my band uses one whenever he can. But having the clean octave lets your run it into the fuzz of your choice!
Blue Box is hella cheap used too. So that's a plus.

Word!
Correct me if wrong, but I believe Jimmy Page used the BB for his solo on Fool in the Rain. You can also get some good 8bit sounds out of the BB

Rowland S. Howard used BB as well. I remember him mentioning that he didn't like newer production Blue Boxes. Though I don't remember ever hearing about what has changed in the circuit over the years.
