It takes 9 months for a fetus to develop into a newborn baby. This one costs a lot over time but will give you infinite happiness.
It takes 3 years to move up on the wait list to purchase these pedals. This one costs a lot up front and may make you happy, but it can always be sold, unlike a child.

I thought the wait time was five years. Seriously.
I want to try the tremolo. But in five years, I'll be playing my space bass in my astro car on the way to the moon.

The wait time is different for each model. I think the 5 year wait is for the Echoczar, I've heard 3 years for the Halofaze, and I think drive/fuzz pedal is like a year or so. Not sure about the trem.

Pffft. Like your not going to want a rad trem when you're on the moon. Now who's being crazy?

I think it's one of those things. If you drop $500 on something you waited 3 years for you don't LET yourself dislike it.

I think this plays a large role in it haha. The guy who traded me his Echoczar was getting a new one plus Angel Baby in black finish and he waited a full 5 years on that list. I think it's around $1300 for the pair buying new. Madness.

Just 2.

Here's the deal about the waiting lists...
Each product has it's own list with the Echoczar being the longest. I was lucky when it came to the Vault since at the time I got in touch with Ed, the wait list was caught up because it was the newest product and he already built and shipped the first 20. I still had to wait about 2 months after paying for him to build it.
He doesn't build anything before a name comes up EXCEPT the special Echoczar Quad's. The #8 quad that just ended last night went for $3210 which is insane.
I waited over a year and a half for my Openhaus but it was worth it. Halophaze is just stunning. Powerglide is awesome. I'm still seeking out a Dove on tgp.
The 18volt operation is a great thing because it can take almost any high-output signal you can throw its way.
I've opened up a few of mine (not an easy task) and I can vouch that the craftsmanship is unlike any other pedal I've seen.

jwar wrote:The way I understand it is that is the waiting list time. You don't have to pay until your time comes up on the list. So really, you would have 3 years to save up if you wanted. You may have to put a deposit down though. Not sure as I wouldn't buy one either. Looks cool though. Wish Excane would do a god damn demo of them...grumble. Jeff, where are you???????
They're coming soon!!
twss
Correct about the list - it costs nothing to get on the wait list, no deposit.
You're not obligated to buy even when your name comes up, he'll just move on to the next person if you decide you don't want it.

The list having no deposit and no obligation to use your place makes a lot more sense to me, it'd be fairly easy to save the money for the pedal over 5 years and then make the choice at the end. I'd still rather just get something else now, but I can understand more why people do it.

The Echoczar really did sound fantastic and build quality was superb. Like excane mentioned, the 18V supply results in lots of headroom and ability to handle hot signals.
That said, I still wasn't completely floored. Nice but I wasn't sad after letting it go. Flipping was a simple process too, ppl just throw money at Toneczar stuff real fast. Glad I traded for it and had a chance to hear what all the hype was about I suppose.
That quad auction ending at $3200 is beyond crazy. Beyond. Crazy!

I find renting them out pays more in the long run.

I've been curious to see gutshots...because I dig the outside aesthetic and suspect the insides are just as clean.
