Algal Bloom is a crazy nice sounding open lovely fuzz/overdrive.

The Upper is a stacking MACHINE. I love love love the Upper, because octave fuzz is awesome but it doesn't just do octaves, it also does it's own fuzz and clangy weirdness texture.

The Arc Flash is a fuzz with a pretty large gain range which is cool, basically clean boost, nice overdrive, super squishy compressed fuzz at the far end.

That's it for what I've tried, but I've heard nothing but good about their other options, so I'll say it entirely depends what sort of fuzz you want, because whatever it is Tom has you covered.

Upper + a Muff is just a better version of a Superfuzz in my opinion. It'll make just about any high-gain fuzz absolutely rip.

if i had to pick a single fave, it'd be the Phantom Arcade. it's one of my fave pedals of any maker.

i have a ab synth 5k, though never turn the gain down....
and turn all other knob to 9 o'clock, so you have an octave up kind trash fuzz,
and when kick another switch on, you have all the noise by turning the volume/tone of your guitar.
and then turn the gain knob down you have the tremolo like noise................
well, spend some time tweaking it till i learn how to use it.
great pedal!

What's the Great Wall like, compared to say an algal? Have always been curious...

Trading my Velcroar was a huge mistake, there definitely will be a SunEater or Velcrobot in my future. I had an Upper Jr too that brought out all kinds of awesome in other pedals. You really can't go wrong with Fuzzhugger, just figure out what your needs are and go from there.

i just have a Phantom Arcade but the upper octave clang makes it my favorite immediately. the octave down fuzz is nice and smooth with no glitch, and you can get some saturated ragged sounds stacking it into another fuzz with the glitch maxed. Bonus: you can now turn any gain pedal you own into an octave up version! that's a huge benefit for me. makes any pedal come alive

I have a couple I picked up in the fall, an old Velcroar and Phantom Ring. Velcroar is good for the times I want really thick ugly on tap before tossing that signal into thin, nasty bandwidth limited stuff, and the Phantom Ring I use in a subtle manner ironically, as a light crackling faux ringmod thing mostly.

The Ab-Synth is great for that regular-> crazy self-oscillation.

I have found the Algal Bloom to be the most useful fuzz on my board. When i need a Fuzz Face, it's there. When I need a Muff, it's there. When I need a Tom Dalton, fucking fuzz... it's there.

(Not that it literally fucks Tom)
