yeah i liked playing there too. & got to go to some awesome shows there (mastodon, blood brothers etc.). their lease ended and the jackass(es) who own the building jacked the rent. there was talk of some people trying to take over and keep it going, but that didn't happen. then it became i believe a lesbian dance club for a little while (different name) but that didn't survive long.
there's a new joint trying to take over as that size of a venue, ace of cups. used to be a bank, vault is at the end of the bar. pretty cool joint but their stage / gear layout is terrible IMO.
if you know cbus joints, oldfields on high became kobo like a couple years ago, ace of cups is practically across the street, right next to ravari room. which also no longer does shows aside from DJs since whoever's running the joint is a douche. i had some great shows there too, like getting to open for the big sleep...

ahhhh man and this just made me think of one of my favorite albums by some totally cool dudes that i haven't listened to in forever!

buddy of mine & i went to see them at beachland in cleveland, turned out their agent had done about the shittiest job ever advertising their tour and it was DEAD. they asked if anyone in the like 7 person audience had any requests, i asked them to play F cat and they sighed & told me it's like their only song they can't do live. then after their set they told the two of us if we made the trip to their next show they'd make sure we were on a guest list regardless of the audience, which we did. really nice guys.
(& they used one standard & one baritone, no bass.)

uSSSy is awesome and fits your description pretty damn well! Drummer and baritone with quarter scale frets and scalloped fretboard from Russia playing noiserock with some eastern influences. Sum crazy shit (my favorite track): http://usssy.bandcamp.com/track/perkele
If you don't like the eastern music part, check out their older self-titled album for more straight up noiserock. Also, check out that baritone:
