i figured your user name was a Soft Boys reference! I like them a lot, and enjoy some of RH's solo records (there are so many, i've never tried to check them all out). i've seen him live a few times & he's always entertaining.

You figured right! I got Robyn to and Peter Buck to talk about Ugly Nora when I saw them play. During a bit of silence, I yelled "Ugly Nora" (yeah I was that guy) and they started talking about the song. I forget all the details but I do remember Robyn saying "She didn't have the capacity [to sell a lot of records]). So long story short, they didn't play it.
I am seeing Robyn real soon - March 3rd. Maybe I will yell it out again

I saw him Monday night, his encore was 3 covers:
1. Bob Dylan - 4th Time Around
2. Townes van zandt - some song, I am not familiar with him
3. David Bowie - Soul Love
I was hoping he would have done Dylan's Vision of Johana because he does an amazing version of it, but 4th Time Around is cool too. Robyn has a double live cover album of all Dylan songs called Robyn Sings if your into it.
Supposed to see Robyn on Thursday (assuming I don't come down with the flu which I think my girlfriend has and will bail on the show because of). I am curious to see if he says anything about Bowie or plays a song or 2. Last time I saw him he did Soul Love as an encore. Supposedly he is pretty broken up about Bowie.
Here is a clip from the show I went to. Bowie starts around 4:45
I found about this Japanese artist today and she totally reminds me of you Ugly Nora, she uses a ton of percussion based instruments like singing bowls and what not this whole album. I'm really into this and trying to find other avant-jazz improv bands she was apart of.
