Maybe its just because they are good basses, but my Kramers have such a great sound to them. I love them and would kill to have a 12 string built to my preferences out of aluminum. Think about it. If I were to make a cymbal shaped thing with the same size and thickness as say a paiste ride out of wood, mount it on a stand and then strike it with a stick, its going to go thud. them metal cymbal will chime out and sustain with great volume. I know thats brass but metal in general is a more resonant material.
Or these things-
Way louder than a wooden guitar. Brighter and not as warm sounding as well.

From my perspective, crazy resonance. Metal carries sound WAY more efficiently than wood. Wood, in the grand scheme of materials, isn't too resonant. So, an aluminum neck or body tends to add a ton of harmonic content. It kinda sounded like getting a really good stereo. There was more of everything in only the right ways.
crazy resonance with a lot of weird overtones, sustain, MASSIVE output that drives an amp much harder. I love mine and would play only aluminium guitars if I could afford it, but they're not for everyone. They're either something that you're a total convert to or don't really get.
Yeah, like it's been said, just a massive hifi harmonic output. I miss having my obstructures some, but if I ever got another aluminum guitar I would want some sort of neck radius. It had such a unique sound to it
