very, very interesting, some similarities to mine but also some differences (in terms of component values, and from what I can tell roughly from the layout the actual circuit)! thanks for posting, first time i have seen the guts of this version!
There's a lot of confusion over that early wedge, Jerms did a Ge one which I'm pretty sure is based on an original he has, the jmi which I'm not sure exactly what they have based it on (did they have access to one?), and the sharptone 'official' wem version which i'm told is based on an actual schematic of a prototype that never went into production (this was from the guy at sharptone who sent me an email).
I think I was extremely lucky to get access to one of the slabs!
the things we did and didn't say...

"The trimmer in the JMI does look like a feedback resistor from Q1B to Q2E. Would also make sense with the text fuzz gain written next to it. Probably 100K I'd presume. The trimmer in the later red box units controls the resistance to Q1's collector. I just glanced at the gray wedge photos on the database and it looks like there's five resistors and a trimmer compared to the later four resistors and a trimmer. My guess is there was a feedback resistor in the wedges. To my failing eyes and guess it looks like 100R, 1K5, 10K, 100K and 1M and the trimmer is probably on Q1's Collector like in the later models. With the small photo though those are just guesses."
there is alot of bs to sift through because of the "john lennon used" , but there was something else I found that stated jmi copied the circuit from the earliest version and.....my god how many times have i read that "its an Exact detailed replica of the original Pepbox Wem Rush"
I'll try to find it, i think it was someone at jmi talking about it, it was the main reason I bought one. it sounds a bit different from your silicon pep box. too soon for me to nail down what those differences are.
Also, I got that Jimmy Behan Selmer Buzz Tone you suggested when I was looking for a Hofner Buzz tone builder. He does outstanding work! That pedal is another unique sounding fuzz from the past, sooooo cool. Now i need the Hofner

Re: the things we did and didn't say...
The bias trimpot in the red slab goes between the base of Q2 and +9v! on the Ge version this is a 1m resistor.
I think the extra 100k resistor makes up a low pass filter with the output cap on the jmi (and the Ge version), the slab doesn't have this resistor.
one thing to note is that jmi chose to use easily available 10uf caps, the original Ge wedge and Si slab has 12.5uf, I made some effort and managed to get 12uf : )

yeah, but you're a bad-ass attention to detail top flight builder from what I've been able to tell from owning one of your pedals. and they're...jmi, and hanging onto a legacy to boost sales. of course their quality is top notch too, just not on equal footing with someone like you. i think. can i have a free warmjet Vghost_effects wrote:The bias trimpot in the red slab goes between the base of Q2 and +9v! on the Ge version this is a 1m resistor.

You have to buy all ghost pedals!
I still miss a SOT and that MKIII'ish Pedal. Have to work on that...
