Well it's actually hard to find definitive evidence as to whether the Hot Tubes or the Tubesound came first. The Hot Tubes was released in '78. There is a schematic of the Tube Sound that was in an issue of Guitar Player in 77 I think, but who knows if EHX was already working on the Hot Tubes by then. That was also right around the time when EHX was starting to put out the Op Amp Big Muff, so they were obviously doing a lot of experimenting with Op Amp dirt pedals around this time. It could be that they ripped off the Tube Sound and changed it, or it could be that they did it independently.

I like how the first Hot Tubes had no tubes then the second one did and now they're back to no tubes... EHX should make a Tube version of everything, TUBE SMALL STONE...
