maybe i'm just skeptical, it's just that these prese- based delays that cen get really deep into tailoring the sound feel a bit non-compatible with bands that are not really "controlled enviroment"... makes sense? :idk: not necessarily a bad thing, but it's something that might not work for everyone
Nothing with deep editing is incompatible with an absolutely anything goes environment whatsoever.

I'm always mystified why this is a common belief - is it really that hard to have, say a few (or a bunch) of presets that take you to the places you're likely to go, and know how to mod them on the fly?

Also lets you play 'dial a sound' and see what happens as well - could be something good, could be something bad, but you're in improvland now, baby.

I see tons more options here than In what I used for over a decade live in all improv-settings, I would have absolutely killed for something like this...

...if I didn't already have my Digi Timebender.

Which basically does almost everything here, and everything lauded as a cool new feature.

Stereo. Check.

Harmonizer, but more than just octave up. Check.

100% wet signal. Check.

Expression control. Check.

Ducking. Check.

Modulation. Check.

Etc.

Can't see myself being any more interested in this than I was at the first product announcement.

More likely to just buy another Timebender honestly - the freeze/hold on it is a godsend and how it morphs the signal with time changes varies on the mode you've chosen, so tape speedup/pitch changes are up to me.

Confused as well. The knobs are there to turn so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do something spur-of-the-moment.

Has anyone heard a price point?

well sure there are knobs to turn, up to a certain point, it is tweakable, it's just that this seems much less intuitive than let's say... the Empress Superdelay, which has every option easily accesible, visible and marked :idk:

i remember owning an SMMH where the knob functions changed depending on the mode you were in... made it a bit hard to do things on the fly for me. :idk: maybe i'm a bit too simple when it comes to this. Or I worry too much about things i'll never have to deal with anyway, because I'm extremely bored yet stressed out at the same time

I gotcha. I imagine if I get this beast I'm going to take full advantage of the computer aspect. I don't do any tweaking mid song anymore so it'll be gravy for me.

Yeah, and i'm sure you're gonna have a frikkin blast, because it certainly seems to be aimed at that :)

all i said aside - can't wait to hear demos

that shit fer four hundo is a strong deal. i had echolution number 108 until i mistakenly traded it and a grip of cash for a timeline. i miss that shit all day every day. new echolution having stereo in and out is a huge plus. and all those features not being mutually exclusive, also serious. the old echolution was a tweaker's delight and i would be surprised if that was lost on this unit, but if all else fails, old echolutions should be pretty cheap.

the possibilities of putting an ehx 8-step to that thing gives me tight pants.

Yeah $400,- for the Deluxe seems a pretty good deal.
They only forgot to put a BPM readout screen on the delay or the controller where I thought I remembered David Koltay say they'd do so on the controller, very unfortunate. :(

They've talked the talk, can it walk the walk?
Sound like a lot of cool features, but in the end it depends on how usable they are.
What sounds intriguing to me is the many waveforms, and the possibility to run all the things at once, which essentially makes it a noise/synth box too.
My main problem is that I don't need another delay, trying to add a third one to my rig now and I'm pretty attached to all of them at the moment..
Guess we'll wait and see until some cool demos start popping up.

It's definitely useable. I feel that ability is based upon the performer not the stomp box.

Yeah they are the same pedal, the deluxe just has more parameters to control live, however, the software allows you to explore those same sounds, just not on the fly.

Interesting about the extra 100 bucks. Personally I hate software, I can only stand it if I really must. A computer screen usually removes a lot of my creativity (soundwise, I've written most of my lyrics on the computer). Tweaking pedals on the other hand, is a completely different thing. Guess I could invest in a controller for my laptop and the software, but that kinda removes the whole point of getting the cheaper pedal, doesn't it?

Well if it's anything like the flashback x4, I had it plugged into my amp and was playing guitar while changing the parameters in the editor. Don't need a controller at all. That'd probably make things way more complicated.

Cheaper than the first Echolution when it came out. Didn't expect the retail price to be 400 for the deluxe. Not that I need more delay pedals, but this is worth watching.
