Are your counting out the character series cause I actually quite like those for guitar. I also vote for the rusty box done live shows with that thing and it works great.

The Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal will give you good results.

which fishman do u have? i've been looking at the platinum pro bass one maybe.

does it handle hot signals well? like could i get away w/ a synth/sampler (line level stuff) on it?
does it alter your sound? w/ everything flat (compressor off)?

Yeah the platinum pro bassl. I've never tested it with line level stuff, but it handles loud boosted bass signals fine. With the input gain down I reckon you could run line level signals through it ok. :idk:

It definitely sounds different with everything flat vs direct to amp (removes a bit of bass/low mid stuff and some of the high punch to my ears), but with minor EQ tweaking I can get the same sound. FWIW I totally prefer the tone I can get through my amp with a bit of EQing on the fishman to what I can get straight in, the flat thing might make more of a difference for synths and stuff, but equally the pedal might not affect the sound in the same way.

The truth has been spoken. No mid-scoop, dirt if you want it, XLR out, sounds amazing. Power supply might be an issue though, I think it needs its own 18V supply...can't remember from when I had mine.

so i ended up with this one:

Image

1.) its got a funny name (LR Baggs)...everytime i see that i always think of that little hobbit bilbo baggs.
2.) the price was right ($75!)
3.) they seem to have a really good reputation (albeit in the acoustic guitar/upright bass world) but nonetheless, seems like a quality piece of gear.
4.) hits on almost every one of my needs.

hope it works out :erm:
