It looks like what a lot of DIY-er and boutique homages to the tweed Champ do: bigger speaker, up the transformers for a bigger output tube. Meh on looks and concept. The question for me is whether the build and price make it decent for doing something else with it with mods. The Excelsior is unfortunately a bit quirky in design to be as easily modded as its build quality provides for. All I've seen of the Ramparte is the one pic, so who knows.

Amp arrived on monday at my house: cold has a nice clean sound and is with my tele pretty well balanced (amp has no tone knob) and turning it up it sounds pretty awesome with the tube drive. The optics are tits. At least this is my taste...
