I've played some of the fancy Ibbys in stores, and they are really nice.

Which ones? The Artcore models?

Yeah, the precursors to the current models. I believe they were the AS103 and AS93. I could only afford an AS73, so that's what I got. The body shape is super comfortable, and the upper access is better than the Epi 339 I tried due to the trimmer shape of the horns. The AS103 especially had a great neck on the slimmer side, and the pickups were really clear.

I've always found Ibanez guitars super comfortable. I have a AR100 from the Japanese Artist range. It was made in Japan in 1981 and is incredibly comfortable. I prefer the smaller Fender nut width as my hands start to hurt after I play the Ibanez for a while, and it's a very heavy guitar overall, but apart from that it's an incredible instrument. I have it set up for pretty low action in Drop C and it's awesome.

Always going to give a shout out to the Schecter Corsair in semi-hollow threads. Love mine to pieces.
It's by far one of the most solid guitars I've ever used and it feels & sounds fantastic.
Huge resonant quality that I haven't found in other guitars.
That Duesenburg is an awesome guitar, too.
If you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.
& yeah, they're gonna feedback, but your dirt plays into that just as much as the guitar.

It doesn't appear to be as big as a 335, but until I get one in my hands I won't know whether it's too big or not.

I agree with the people that suggested the Ibanez Artcores. I've had a chance to play a few, and they're pretty good imo. Didn't feel too big on me either.

I got hot looking at the picture of the red one, & that's the one I own

There is a lot of wood on the back end but it's contoured very well.
Maybe a little big but I don't find it bulky.

Did you ever replace the pickups? It seems a common thing to do for that guitar.

I play 12 string semi hollows and just wanted to suggest you pick up a volume pedal to go with it. Makes the increased feedback into a non issue and can be used to control it for some very nice effects.

Good idea. I know I wanted two separate tone and volume knobs to control feedback on the guitar easily, but doing at my feet would be take it one step further.
