Green muff all day. It has quickly become my go to fuzz. Black Russian muff if you are on a budget. The pharaoh is cool, too!

just bundled those two muffs on the bst for a good deal.. nyc and black russian. gonna mod the nyc to triangle or ramshead, maybe add a mids control. gonna true bypass the black one and fix those jacks

I modded my Ram's Head to have a mids knob and didn't care for it too much. I much preferred the tone bypass I swapped it for.

I personally love the scoopedness of the muff. That's what makes it muffy in my ears. I dial back some of the mids on my amp, if I want to cut more.

i love the scoopedness too, but i'm more just curious to try out all the mods. i hate watching comparison videos on youtube because recorded audio that's all compressed and shit just CAN'T do things like this justice. time to find out for myself

yup IMO a muff sits nicely inbetween fuzz and distortion...and in my experience...adding mids (and tightening up the low end) pushes it more towards "distortion" territory...
