I haven't tried any stacked singles myself, but I have been itching to see what the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders do in a doom situation.

They were good enough for this dude as you can see the giant slugs clearly on that neck pup:

I'm running Lace Nitro Hemi and Drop n Gains in my Monson. When I ordered the monson, I did so many things that were not present on my previous guitars. It was a great experience, but because of that I can't pin point why that guitar sounds so good. Walnut body, maple neck thru, ebony fretboard, and the lace pups. Theres so much clarity and detail within the notes and chords. And the cleans are really nice sounding, full and warm.

Im in the midst of an order with Monson myself right now. The maple neck-thru is definitely part of the clarity you are experiencing, but neck-thru construction makes the maple neck slightly less bright than when bolted or set in.

The other half is definitely that Walnut body, if you were using mahogany or similar bodies before this would be where you are noticing the added clarity(as opposed to the same pups in a mahogany guitar)

For my build I went Ash body, Walnut top, Maple neckthru/ebony fretboard for the same exact reasons, but have decided on a BKP Nailbomb for the bridge and a BKP Stockholm for the neck...this will definitely be the guit I end up trying Lace pups in finally, but as of now i'm still not sold and my only axes are HSS config so it just isn't worth it...YET.

Which shape did you get?

Yep I think you nailed it all. Gibson types (sg and lp), so mahogany and set necks.

I have Doomsayer #5.

I've been on 26.5"/24 fret for about 6 years now...something about that configuration that had me hooked, excited/a bit stressed to jump back down to 25.5/24 fret again.

I just looked it up and found that one too, amazing looking...anything online I can hear it on? What is the neck profile like on it?

Every one of these i've seen makes it painfully clear that they are going to be a lifetime staple for whoever owns them(short of falling on hard times, personally I try and make it rule not to make a purchase of over 1k without the intention of keeping forever and rule these select items out in situations like that) cannot wait to get my hands on one.

That would be mine :thumb:

I'm on a mobile device so multi quoting is a pain. Lol.

The neck profile is very fast and comfortable. Not sure of shape or technical aspects to be honest. Very similar to my old explorer I had. As far as reference material ill have to check and see.

YouTube:
Nine fathom grave

There's only 3 videos and they should be the top hits. The electric funeral cover is mostly my wife's setup. The other live teaser you can hear it better. And the third is heavily effected and clean but is all just the monson.

What pickups are in the Monson? I was reading about Lace pickups while I had some down time at work today and saw they had some 7 string pickups too. Now I am curious and want to try them but I just spent the money on the dimarzios. Has anyone played the deathbucker in the six string version? I have been on a lower output kick recently but it looks like the deathbucker may be better for the lower tuning.
