I think I'm just gonna order online. Too expensive at the local shop right now. In your diagram, is that two 2pdt switches and one 3pdt, or three 3pdts? It's 2pdt for the kills, right?

Re: Couple wiring questions....
Fuck, I'm still confused
For the kill switches, would I need the kind of toggle with double lugs (four or six) or just a real simple one with two lugs? Same question for the stereo switch. I'm not wiring the pickups directly to those switches, so is there no need for the ground lugs?

Re: Couple wiring questions....
Sorry for the late reply, was driving home from work-
Kill-switches would not need double lugs because you're just disconnecting the hot wire. The pickup still stays grounded in the meantime and you don't need to lift it at all. Same goes for the stereo switch! So it'll be the regular 3 way switch for the guitar pickups, then a 2 position SPST for both killswitches and the stereo switch!

You can get them cheap from Mammoth Electronics or bitcheslovemyswitches!!

Re: Couple wiring questions....
Egad.
I wired it up yesterday. It makes sound. But the switches don't work quite right. What I have is this:
BOTH guitar and Bass on: Bass volume cuts out if I turn it all the way up, and every volume acts as a master volume.
Bass only and guitar only work!
Both toggles off kills everything like they should.
HOWEVER: the stereo switch doesn't kill one of my amps if I have it plugged into both. It seems to be superfluous
because I can play through one amp just fine, too.
Also I somehow wired my pickup selector backwards

Re: Couple wiring questions....
I actually tried some of that wiring in my P Bass project that I put together a few weeks ago and I noticed both pots acting as MV's as well. That's weird that with the bass volume all the way up it cuts out. Is it a new pot? There might be something wrong with the pot if it works until it's cranked.
On one of the jacks you could have a switch from the hot wire to ground which would short it out if you wanted to!

I'd just give each pup its own volume and on/off switch, and add a two way switch for the seperate jack. Simple and you could use the volumes for your blends.

That's interesting that we both had the same issue.
The bass volume doesn't kill the signal when it's cranked, it just turns the bass up and up and then all of a sudden there's a lot less bass. Honestly, at this point, I think I'm going to leave it and see what I can play with it, then tweak things based on what I need it to do.

Yeah, that's what I tried to do, but lo and behold

That sounds like a plan. I played around with the P Bass for a few days before I tweaked things as well. Who knows, you might find that you like the quirks, or we can go back to the drawing board!

Re: Couple wiring questions....
So far, I kinda like the quirks. The little bass cut/jump I can get by turning the bass knob like I said is actually pretty cool. It seems like it'll be great for ambient stuff.
