Sweet!
We should all prepare ourselves for the possibility of them being custom shop models that retail for >$6000 though...
But AVRI starcasters/coronados would make sense.

if they do AVRIs, can the $300 Squier version be far behind?

Very cool
Would have preferred a string through hardtail rather than a Tune-o-Matic on the Starcaster but beggars can't be choosers, hopefully MIJ or at least affordable MIA

I'm much more interested in the Coronado reissue, it looks fantastic! I've always kind of wanted a vintage Coronado, and I want something with filtertrons, so I may just go for one of these at some point.

I don't normally like sunbursts much, but something about that brown burst on the Coronado is freaking GORGEOUS to me. Love it.
Pretty sure I'm going to get one assuming they aren't too much. I've got a few pedals I haven't been using much lately that I was thinking of selling (I tend to only keep pedals around if they're on my board), so maybe I'll hang on to them for now and do a sell off once the Coronado is out to partially fund buying one.

Re: Unconfirmed Starcaster reissue tease from Fender
it's interesting that when the coronado and starcaster came out they weren't very highly regarded. the coronado had a very thin sound, even brittle, and very little sustain. the starcaster was an excellent guitar but too weird and uncharacteristic for a fender when it was issued. i imagine if fender reissue these, they will make improvements to the coronado and, hopefully, will leave the starcaster be.
btw, the photos are of gordon skene, guitarist for the excellent scottish band frightened rabbit.
