Probably. I think they addressed that the main r&d guy had family problems and didn't wanna rush grieving or anything. If I remember it was a series of things.

Spring Chicken better not sell out again before I get one. I've been looking for a delay to be this since it came out. First oscillating reverb I heard.

Of course this is complete speculation

I was saying this as well but I never thought they'd be purposefully refusing to release it until they've updated it with more modern features.

On the topic of the reissue of the Spring Chicken, fucking YES! I've wanted a Spring Chicken literally for years but kept putting it off until it was too late.

That depth mod starts at stock setting and goes SUPER deep from there. Use expression to control the mix and the SC goes fucking nuts. It's awesome!

Yeah I've been thinking of grabbing a 616D as well.
I strive for variety when buying gear; and typically want one (each) MN3005-based delay, MN3205 etc. It's a quirk.
Yes, I'm aware I want a DM-2 MN3005 while already using an '81 DMM. But DMM uses 2, DM-2 uses 1. Shenanigans.

The 300/600 use MN3205 chips, I currently have an E600B. Wanted more info on the 616, to aid in my decision to pull the trigger or not.

So I searched for info on the 616 to learn which chip it uses without bothering Malekko, and the first result is a HC thread....one that perfectly serves as a reminder of why I never registered there and avoid that site, in general.
An honest attempt by OP gathering information produced a useless wankfest of campy bullshit and complete waste of my time.
Ridiculous.

I posted a lot on HC when the Doom Room was there. I wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for that thread and the good people that hung out there. I happily left when everyone moved over to here (because of HC fucking up) because I was already a member and already posted here.

Has anyone compared the spring chicken (w/dwell) to the chicklet?

I had a chicklet and wasn't too impressed. It didn't get as deep or washy as I would like.

I've owned both the standard SC (no dwell option) and Chicklet and it wasn't even remotely close, completely different in terms of design and sound. The SC was far superior, goes crazy deep.

The newer Chicklet ( i think its just called Spring) sounds real springy to me. The Spring chicken seems more like a huge Ghost Echo/spring reverb to me.
my only background is youtube so :idk: :?:

Want so bad. Definitely won't last until my birthday (8/31), which is about the next time I could possibly justify a gear purchase. :(

prob the smartest and most right reason ive heard for the crazy delay for this delay. fuck they should just put a fucking joystick on it where the x axis is occilation/feedback and the y axis is repeats. crazy new delay problem solved

Yeah my dudes. The endless feedback situation with the Spring Chicken ruuuuuules. I use it in my synth stuff all the time. I can be playing a phrase and slowly dialing the depth deeper and deeper until it just sort of lifts off into space. I let it hang for a bit and feedback on itself and then back the depth off until it tapers back into regular 'verb territory. Spring Chicken has been integral in my setups for years. One of my favorite pedals, hands down.

Is it as noisy as the Ghost Echo? My GE produced a lot of hiss when engaged.
