My Devi Ever Soda Meiser has some nice bottom end and I think it sounds pretty warm. At the crazier settings things start to scramble up but at lower intensity settings it might tickle your fancy. My Blackout Effecotors Twosome can also cop some bass heavy warm fuzz tones. Not sure who posted the link, it's been a while but the band Dopethrone uses one and it sounds very good: http://dopethrone.bandcamp.com.

The thing lacking from the Black Russian was probably MIDS.
If you are looking for something that does lower gain as well, I'd go with the Pharaoh or Supercollider.

^ That!

The Pharoah shines if you play loud. Keep that in mind. The Supercollider gives u more gain but still not as crushing as a Pharoah IMO.

i don't really play loud... i think that's another major factor.

The Elements (Dr. Scientist) even if it's not a fuzz... but can go into fuzz territory.

The Elements is spectacular, so many awesome sounds, huge gain range, powerful EQ. If u go with fuzz tho and you play at mild volume, the Suppercollider (or better yet the Beast) will probably get you there.

Based on that, you want this:

^It might seem silly to some, but I really with they wouldn't use those dc jacks that stick out like that...at least they don't keep those fugly white washers on the stomps.

I had a Sludge Hammer for a minute. Did not jive with my setup at all, just couldn't dial it in how I wanted no matter how much I messed with it. Wanted to love it but it wasn't meant to be.

Something else worth checking out is the Basic Audio Squarewave+. Multiple clipping options, vintage or modern-ish sounds, tons of gain on tap, nice mids and lows, awesome pedal! :thumb:

I think the blunderbuss can pull this off pretty well, I have had black russians and a ton of other muff pedals and the blunderbuss is a freak.

TAFM (yeah, i read that you didn't like the "dialing in" - me too, btw)
Muff (the ehx normal big box is nice, efe dope priest, pharao is an outstanding pedal for sure (i use it almost every day) etc.)
Buzzaround (the muff for those who don't like muffs)
Dizzy (same as buzzaround with a bit more raspy treble attack)

you can't go wrong with an algal bloom

Interesting, I love the Algal Bloom but to me it doesn't sound warm at all. Could just be my general setup geared towards sounding bright though.
