All 3 should easily be under $100... Mine were about $60 all together...

I think the Biyang Fuzz Star is the same Big Muff clone circuit that I got in the bigger chrome housing from Akai. It sounds like a Muff should, for good and bad. The really awesome thing is that it keeps me from spending any more thinking I need another Muff, 'cause for what I do I really don't.

I like the Seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz, though some apparently strongly don't. Don't know why not. Meat and potatoes silicon Fuzz Face with the tweak knob that selects input caps to take the tone from fat to thin. Like the vintage FF circuits, it doesn't have a lot of output so low fuzz-high volume settings can be lower than unity, but the usual fuzz face mods can be done to increase output.

Not so cheap on the secondary market, but the Zoom Ultra Fuzz was brilliant for the $60 I got it for new. All sorts of gated, velcro, and oscillating stuff. It can go out of control in a totally over the top way or it can go very subtle, and lots in between. It isn't a Fuzz Factory clone, but I haven't felt the need to have a Fuzz Factory in addition. If you stumble upon one cheap used, go for it.

The Dano French Toast and the Visual Sound Angry Fuzz are definitely on my radar -- I've liked all the demos of both I've ever heard.

People didn't like the Tweak cause it was the same color and terminology of shitty meth... No one likes a tweaker...

because it's hard to love a pedal that you stomp on and you're never sure if it picks it up and turns on

yeah, he already complained about that a year or so ago. He means the FZ7 for sure. I suggested using a true bypass looper back then.
But the FZ7 is on my part for sure in the budget fuzz top 3.
