That's a sweet frigging amp.

The word "basement" makes me fear bad things, though. Amps don't cope well with damp basements and the combo has led to too many electrocutions. The circuit boards in old Fenders are made with a treated paper fiber, great for flexibility so easy to work on, but also great for soaking up humidity over time, sometimes so much that shorts will develop.

Do not put in fuses of a higher value to try to keep them from blowing. Fuses are cheaper than output tubes, and output tubes are cheaper than the power transformer. Take it to a good tech who can chase down the issue. While they're at it, have them put in fresh electrolytic caps, get a three-pronged power cable installed, and get the death cap/ground switch disabled.

Yeah, the board material looks kinda warped, so it's probably experienced a fair amount of moisture. Having opened it up now, the amp part is in nowhere near as good condition as the exterior might suggest; all sorts of oxidation on the chassis, and the choke has some brown goop coming out of it. Might need more work than I was expecting, but oh well.
