Ugh, I didn't even think about people yelling during their set. That would be awful. I fucking hate when an audience can't be respectful for opening bands, or even the bands they're there to see.
Baffling.

Both times I've seen godspeed its been in a relatively small venue, with an audience of their fans.I saw godspeed in Boston last year, or maybe it was the year before last. I can't imagine the TD banknorth filled with with GYBE fans. Last thing i saw there was a Celtics game. Errr... Something in the back my mind says this is going to a shit show. also, the last time i saw nine inch nails, they opened for David fucking Bowie, so that was magical.
There is so much sleepy time build up in GYBE. I'm thinking nose bleed seats won't even be able to hear that, over a mostly bored and indifferent audience. Or maybe everyone will be calm and listen, who knows. I kinda want to go...

that's kind of why I hold the opinion that being un-heckle-able is one of the most important things you can do if you're doing anything that is "black coffee and filtered smokes" serious.
I've loved literally every piece of music that has come from Trent Reznor. Is it cold and sterile right now? Yes. I believe that's the sounds he's going for. If it wasn't he would have it sound different. Trent is a very unique artist and a brilliant one at that.
Every watch any of his making of videos and the amount of time and dedication the man has to just one sound in a part of his song? Amazing.
Some of the lyrics may seem redundant or similar, but I figure that's where he's at in life. I will love NIN forever. I don't care. They are coming to KC in September, and I will be there. Always a good show, from a legend.

This. I liked Year Zero and Ghosts (although Ghosts wasn't really that remarkable...most of us could've made it, easily, IMO) but the Slip.....and this stuff. It feels a bit forced. The lyrics feel forced to me.
Also, I agree fans yelling during opening acts. NIN and Tool, especially, have some of the stupidest, most-disrespectful and ignorant fans ever. It's incredibly ironic. That's not to say that all their fans are like that, but I think you guys know what I'm talking about.

Pretty much in the same boat as you with loving NIN. Yeah, his lyrics are silly and angsty and have never been good, but like whatever, that's what he does.
I do agree with others about The Fragile being the best thing he's done though. That album was just so good.

Agreed.
