UPDATE! I just discovered how to recreate the noise another way.
When I plug a tuner into the pedal and turn the tuner on (Thus muting the signal), I get the high pitched noise again. So it seems when a volume is off that is in front of the fuzz, I get a weird high pitched noise. Possible ground issues? Any help is greatly appreciated :)

here's some help:

int 4x-2/x^2 dx is 2(1+x^3)/x + C

ugh. chain rule, right?

nah, only when multiplying functions. there you can just split it up into two integrals, take the 2 and 4 out front so it becomes -2 int 1/x^2 + 4 int x

Are you testing it out in the enclosure? If not, the pot body and the metal parts of the bypass switch may be injecting noise into the circuit when the signal is grounded out.

I haven't tried it in the enclosure yet, but once I get my 1590A drilled out, I will definitely try to see if it makes a difference.

For future reference; where would I put the small value capacitor to filter out the high noise? And what capacitor would be a good idea? Thanks much!

it already has a negative feedback cap from Q1 C to B and another cap from Q2 C to B. each transistor is an inverting amplifier. the effect output is in phase with the effect input so you can not just slap a negative feedback cap from output to input. any high gain effect with the output in phase with the input is known to be more likely to have unwanted oscillation. like I said before, and everyone else is saying it, put it in a box before you go thinking that it has a problem. after you box it post your results.

Put it in the enclosure. Rewired everything, rewired the switching. Doesn't work at all now after working for like 10 seconds. I give up :( what does a fried transistor sound like? nobody ever gave me that information.

UPDATE: Pedal is now sounding. However I still have that annoying high pitched noise. back to square 1 :/ It's a slightly lower frequency. Seriously, nobody has any idea what the high pitch noise problem is? Somebody has got to be like "Oh yeah, that's this thing.

Also, when I roll up the volume on the guitar it is very quiet. barely any noticeable fuzz until i have it at 10 on the guitar. This might be the same issue causing two problems. Help please!

Might you have the transistor backwards?
