It really depends, the Aguilar Octamizer for instance sounds like shit before dirt because it gives such a massive amount of low end that distortion units can't handle or transfer it.

Always ran octave before dirt - may need to experiment with different placement once I pick up a new one.

been a/b ing the ps 5 and 6
ill go into the deyails in the boss thread
but for no bullshit octave stuff
the ps 6 def wins out
plus it splits the upper and lower into seperate outs
havin the low on one side
and a +oct on the other rules
doesnt seem the 5 does that
-1 is always on for me

So can the PS-6 do -1/+1 into one amp at the same time?

Never played an octave pedal, but the discussion in this thread has piqued my interest. I borrowed a friends boss octave pedal, still need to play around with it. I've read that i goes before dirt, but does it make much difference about it going before Wah and Comp? i would prefer not take apart my pedal board.

Not sure since I've never had a compressor and I am terrible at using wah. Ocatve pedals are snazzy though - before dirt it gives this grindy synthy type of dirt, which is pretty cool.

yeah ps6 has stereo outs
but it will do mono
and harmonies go into one channel
the sbend stereo is awesome
with a slow rise
one amp goes up and the other one drops
fuckin thing is so so titties
im just startin to get into wah
only place i found it makes significant wah-ing
is dead last
could just be my setup
but thats the only place it actually goes wahwah

mate...i can't talk you out of Octave...after playing a boss one fore a week, I'm hooked. I'm basically using it lightly, but using it all the time on single note passages. Its fuckin' awesome
you should definitely get another one!
Don't know about the whammy though...seen vids of it, seems really complicated...don't think i would have the patience to fiddle with it
