Yah, I still have to look over my wiring again. I put in a new fuse, a 2 amp slo-blo as per the schematic.
Here's what I re-wired the power to be. In conjunction with the video I posted earlier.

I'd like to second the idea that it is time to seek professional help. However, in light of your initiative and status as a student, I would like to suggest that you approach the faculty science department. That might be a more economical approach and they may have some of the equipment that is required. Of course this entirely depends on the knowledge base available within the schools staff.
There are several excellent books that could help you determine the appropriate steps to take. Search tube amps on amazon books and a bunch will pop up.
Vintageamps.com ax84.com http://www.el34world.com/forum/index.php are all good resources.
I have fixed several of my amps by trial and error and deductive reasoning, but it's not a great way to go about it. One thing you can do without test equipment is get the amos schematic, trace the actual circuit path and ensure that everything is still properly connected. give it a good cleaning and use deoxit on all the contact points. It is possible that the components are fine but the electricity is not flowing.
(insert disclaimer about cap discharge here. DON'T SKIP THAT!)

Thanks. I went back and looked at my wiring and noticed that I hadn't connected the black wire from the power transformer to the ground switch lug with the white power cable end. I did this and when I plugged in the amp it blew the fuse in my house. Here are some pictures of the wiring.

My guitar teacher has a friend who builds amps, I'll ask my teacher if he would be willing to take a look at it.
