There were some good tracks in zeitgeist.. but this one is .... just boring.
Sounds pretty much like the come on lets go thing in zeitgeist, that wasn't a song, it was deceiving. Unless it was some sarcastic joke, that sounded like a "put in a microwave for 5mins" song...
It's got billy corgan's voice but... i don't really like this.

Eh.....not the best.......not the worst.
I stopped buying Pumpkins after Melon Collie.
But, after hearing Devi rave about Machina, I decided to pick it up.......and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks, Devi.
As far as the new stuff not pushing production boundaries, the presence of Butch Vig and Flood had more than a little to do with their best work.
And to answer somebody's question, "what's so great about them"?
Seeing them on the Siamese Dream tour would have answered that question (I was blown the fukk away).
But, really if you don't get it after listening to Siamese Dream all the way through, you probably never will.
PS- I don't really buy the argument that SP records are worse because James and D'arcy are gone. From every account I've read, neither of them played a note on Siamese Dream....and for my money, that's The One.

I can agree, but D'arcy/James did help write and influence billy's writing on SD. I believe James co-wrote Soma and Mayonaise... i know Soma was....which is why they don't play it live.

Youtube Channel?

Re: New Smashing Pumpkins track "FOL"
I remember when I first heard 'disarm'...I was like 14 or 15 years old
,and fell in love with the song (And I was really into sonic youth at the time, and then some, mind you, still am,and I'm 27 atm ).When I finally got a copy of siamese dream,I was like, wtf!?It was too metal for me,too many solos, but something got me hooked, must have been the good songs,I reckon.Pisces iscariot was next, and then the MCIS.Adore...hmmm...I liked some of the songs, but when I got just a little older,I started questioning this radical departures...like they wanted to bring more of the trip hop and whatever was hip at the moment, machines and stuff.
If you're influenced by some new music,it's stupid to just go for it,IMHO,I mean,it's gotta come from you,not just picking up on something that's hip, because it's lame and not genuine and true to the origins.Imagine if billy was into heavy drum and bass and jungle, what would we have...'Stand inside your love' was the last song from SP I felt was good.Today I can't stand what they're (or He is) doing. And I'm not into the whole thing, like, man, this ain't no SD,there's no james and d'arcy and all that,I don't care.I feel like they became an empty stadium sensation with very bad songs.Even zeitgeist...I kinda tried to listen to it,and again...and again.
I don't need that kind of music really.IMHO,it's all washed up,like some ex big actor in rehab. And it doesn't matter to me if they're ever gonna come back in big style...because I don't care.
Just my opinion,people...I wasn't trying to put down any SP fans, really.
don't hate me for this last one

James just came up with B-E-G progression in Soma, and if you ask Billy he'd tell you James is getting too much credits for it.
They played Soma on the last tour (20th anniversary tour). It was great

And Mayonaise was played quite often recently.
