I was going to suggest an Epi ES175, but taking a look on ebay for them, it looks like they're all going for over 500 bucks now. So I'm no help.
Saw a guy plying one of these through a blackface deluxe reverb the other night. Yeah, that sounds about right. It's just ridiculous how good this thing sounds. I can't think of anything currently out there that would approximate it.
