I think it'd be cool. I'd like to try one for <$500. I don't really care about scale. Whatever works for me. I would care for decent hardware though, so I wouldn't have to go replacing anything. But other than that I'd like to see an awesome Silvertone one of these guys in bright ass red plastic
Dude it would be so awesome if once it got up and running, you could do you like a tour guitar like pedal builder tourboxes and sure shipping would be on the expensive side but I think many of us here would be ok with that.

for pick ups what about doing how Guitar USA kits do their pups on the kits and just screw them right onto the body with routing, this way you could virtually put any kind of pup on one of the guitars without changing the design. Cut down on costs but maximize customization.
I'm just thinking about all the crazy finishes. I don't know much about plastics so I don't know what you could do without what you're putting in melting or messing with the integrity but imagine having a transparent guitar with a bunch of different coloured D6 and D20s thrown in there. You could even have a cavity in the back to put LEDs arranged into something and have a simple circuit that makes them flash in a certain way when there is a signal. You doom guys could have a freaking black transparent guitar with a blood red glowing pentagram in it. EMBRACE THE CHEESE, EAT IT AND MAKE OTHERS EAT IT TOO!
Also having a built in effect of some kind as an option would be cool. Something that oscillates would be a great thing to have in the guitar especially if it was joystick controllable.
EDIT: Awww man, what about bits of two sided mirror? I have never been so excited about something that doesn't even exist.
I like the marbles/suspended objects idea...and I'd be very interested to see prototypes of some of the non-traditional finishes you can do with plastics
Love it. Just made me have a look through my vinyl collection. Ryan at Graveface does the bossest (it's a word ok) splatter stuff. IEatCats get him on to consult haha!
Wandre made portions of their guitars out of plastic. Most of them that I've seen have held up and they're pushing 40. I'm pretty stoked if this comes into fruition
Hahaha, it'd be fun if this happens to do a small run of colored vinyl inspired guitars.
I'm really hopeful that this could work out, seeing how excited you guys are getting about it
Hopefully, my dad and I will be able to come up with numbers that would support investing in a prototye, and if the prototype ends up workable without serious modification, we'll try to kickstart it and get the funding for the machines we'd need.

I would totally back that kickstarter especially if you have smaller donations like t shirts for like $30 or something like that!

Awesome! I'm really thinking that this might come together now. And of course there'd be smaller stuff. Picks and t shirts and junk. Guitars at the larger donations, and probably tours if it gets enough. I'm in an area that has TONS of closed out store fronts, so I might be able to actually set up a shop here and hire help for cheap on small hours.
