sonar users: can you dial out the trem/throb enough to pretty much hear the machine circuit independently?

Not necessarily? I was able to get close, but not enough to clear the trem out totally. However, keep in mind that both the SHO (aka clean) & Machine modes really work in tandem with the trem in order to make it cut through any mix depending on chain placement, and the Volume overall (and, hence, the volume of the SHO or Machine) can be adjusted via internal trimmer, to the point that the Clean setting is more saturated, the same way either effect would be boosted traditionally (but in the case of the Machine, sans any other controls). If you are really after a Machine & all it's capable of doing (with all three knobs), you'd either be better off buying one used (if that IS what you're after), but it's also a fairly easy & approachable DIY endeavor if you have the will & the ways.
