Caught the DC show, so great! Bummed we didn't get thrones, though. And yeah, their drummer has the moves. Never seen anyone play like that!

Unfortunately Elder won't be there tho.

Tempting though that is, my wife has a work event tomorrow night, which means I'm home with the kiddo.

You gonna try to go to both?

Any of you guys that have seen em got any notes on setlists? For Floor, but Elder too. I'm living in this vain hope that they'll maybe possibly tour oz...probably not seeing as apparently no promoter can afford to bring Torche down here. Fuck it, I think I'm gonna move. If anyone nabs any footage you gotta post it!

I thought about going again last night but had to get up at asshole o'clock this morning for work...
Floor did a few new ones which were pretty awesome--they sound like old Floor, duh--and some "hits"...Dove, Downed Star, Assassin, Bombs To Abbadon and Scimitar were standouts. We were super lucky Elder played a long-ass time...Spires Burn, Gemini, Dead Roots Stirring, and Release were all fucking incredible.
Special low-frequency version.

Goddamn. That's awesome. Le sigh.

Hey Benjuro - you're a MA dude, right? How often do Elder play locally? I've only just been turned on to them, and would love to catch them sometime soon.

They play out fairly regularly--I think they're based out of more Western Mass than Boston proper. They had to/are going to take a long break from playing out as one of them is studying abroad this year.

Because even though they shred hard, they're still not old enough to drink.

WHAAAAAAAAT? That's just crazy talk.

Well, hopefully I can catch them before they take their break.

Just re-googled--that interview was a little older than I'd thought. Now I'd guess that they're constrained by, you know, regular old college/university rather than international education.

I've been trying to catch them for MONTHS, and they've played both Boston and Worcester in the past month or two...always just a bad night for me.
I know they were about to leave for Europe after this weekend. I talked to the drummer briefly and told him we were from outside Boston, and he suggested they'd be back to play in the area within the next few months. They had a fill-in bass player at AS220...due to injury and not study tho, from what they were saying. :idk:
You DO want to catch them. Dead Roots Stirring is one of my fave albums of the past 2-3 years, and even with a green bass player, they bring it live

Oh, cool - glad that they'll be back in the forseeable future. I flippin' loved Dead Roots Stirring and Spires Burn / Release. Definitely will make it a point to catch them next time. And Floor too, of course, but it'll probably be longer before they're back.
