Same deal here. He modded the JCA20h I used to own, and Ben is a super nice guy. Hung out in his shop for a while shooting the shit.
EDIT: Also, I would gladly pay the money to own one of his heads but I'm not that into tube amps anymore...

I remember calling ben for the first time for my amp and we ended up talking for i think close to 2 hours about how awesome the amp was going to be. I've had my amp for almost 3 and a half years now. Killer amps

Back then, I emailed him ready to order a custom built amp and it turned out that he had just finished this 100 watt stereo amp that he was going to use for himself on tour with Helms Alee (how can he be so badass at customer service AND have a regularly touring band?!). He sent me that amp and built a new headshell for it in my specified color so I only had to wait a few weeks. That's the most top notch customer service I've ever had from any company. Much love for verellen!

pics?
Soooon. I picked up a used Verellen amp (some sort of ac30 clone i think) on the cheaps too. I'm currently moving everything to another room though so no glamour shots yet. and I need to find some more sexy cabs.

Was that amp on eBay like 6 months ago or so? Cause that sounds like one I was watching but then decided not to get because I went out and tried an AC30 and decided it just wasn't for me, even modded. But it was a gorgeous amp none the less!

yeah I think it was! it has ended up in my hands now though and while the tube config looks like an AC30, it doesn't seem to sound like exactly like one, or at least the newer chinese ones i've tried. seems to have a lot more volume on tap too. I'll have to send Ben an email to see if he remembers what's up with it.

That's awesome! It looked like a sweet lil gigging amp, I just can't jive with EL84's, well more like my pedals don't.

If you hear back from him definitely post in here whats up with it.

I love the white/natural Meat Smoke and goddamn that ebony is sexy too! Plus I'm sure they sound even better than they look.

Five more weeks until my Loucks is ready to roll, super psyched! I'm currently enduring the EGC wait time so five weeks won't even remotely test my patience. THEBEERHAMMER feels my pain.
