This is beside tbe point, but how low was this "lowball" offer. Memory Boys aren't worth that much used. Probably about half retail?

Probably less than half retail. Shops like that generally like to pay half (or often less) than what they'll put it out for.
So, let's say a new pedal is $125 for example. Less than that used. You'd be lucky if a shop offered you $50 for it.

shop offered me 25
I know that GC does 60% of used value
so if they go for around 80 at GC they would probably offer you around 50
25 is just crap

Yep, $25 is just crap.
I can see why you didn't accept that offer. Might as well keep it if that's all they're gonna give you.
Hope everything works out.

I am sure it will
if the shop bombs out ILF will pick me up as per usual
I just don't know when I am even going to get near the place again, local shop where I live is a 20 minute drive

$25 is insulting. I know they're not worth a ton but seriously, thanks and go fuck yourself.
aphidinvasion wrote:Customer service? define it again for me cause hbomb seems to be doing the shop owners duty......being a business if they drop the pedal they should offer to fix it up straight away and they need to make the customer happy, not the other way round.
Hbomb has little choice but to do part of the shop owner's duty if he wants any sort or resolution from them b/c the shop owner didn't. Obviously their customer service is questionable at best and it's pretty clear what they
should have done. Nobody said anything about making the business happy...but unless he goes to your PC shop, most of the time going into a shop yelling at the owner about something that happened two weeks ago is not going to get his pedal fixed.

yeah, it's probably not going to get sorted out by a confrontation, and I will be lucky if they even remember the incident.
It may just be my best bet to stop shopping there, I have started ordering strings online because the local selection sucks and this might have been my last trip into a local guitar store.

Not sure that would really help in this case. It's hard to tell from a photo whether a pedal is working or not.

This makes me kinda sad. Unfortunately, this seems to be the direction local music shops are heading. I have to order strings online too because no store close by carries what I use. There're a few shops near me that are OK, but none that I really love. I'd rather shop in person than over the internet. Oh, well.

I love giving local businesses money, unfortunately they don't seem to want it.
