BOSS PS5 SUPER SHIFTER. If I get a moog expression pedal for this can I use it like a whammy? I ready use the trem arm modes but I'd like to do slower, dive bomb pitch shifts. Like, so from original note to an octave below stretches over a couple of bars, instead of pretty much instantly.

MOOG MINITAUR: do they work as a standalone oscillator/tone generator or do they need an external input?

Great idea for a thread thank you!

You have to have an external input keep the gate open. Kind of sucks. Seems like you really NEED midi to get the most out of it and thats why I got rid of mine

in a way yes... but it isn't the most "normal use" type of sound.

I'm not after normal. I've heard it used to great effect on Bongrippers SWD album.

Sunny day delay: do the repeats have a crisp attack like a bbd delay or do they sit back in the mix like a tape delay?

can you use the CV port on the original version of Randy's Revenge to control another expression-friendly box like you can with the new ones?

Gated fuzz into a Marshall or equivalent should probably get you pretty damned close I'd think.

Thanks, I suspected as much

Yes, the PS-5 can do the Whammy stuff with an expression pedal. The guitarist in my covers band does this, and it works great.

The minitaur needs either a MIDI note-on message or a CV Gate signal before the internal oscillators will make noise.

awesome, thanks :)

Hmm. Did you ever try plugging a guitar into it or did that not work? Otherwise I might just get a shitty midi keyboard and tape some of the keys down or something.

Preeeetty sure that feature was added for the new ones, and the v1s just had CV in. Not 100% certain though.

Well it does have a 'repeats level' knob, so you can set how much of the delayed signal your hear; however, the SDD is very dark, so the repeats tend to create an ambient wash of delay behind what you play (from what I've heard from demos and such).

Yeah, pretty sure that monkeydancer is correct on this one. Old version is expression in only. That's the trade off between versions.

is there any looper/phrase sampler that allows me to: save a loop in a slot as its playing, the switch to another slot, repeat, then switch back to the first one?

i feel like that should really be a thing, but all the loopers i know of require you to stop the loop before you are able to save it

hmm, you could always get 2 loopers?

i figured that was the case, but didn't have a 3-conductor cable to test with. thanks!
