the alesis akira & ineko are pretty sweet too. haven't messed with it yet but recently picked up a boss VF-1 which i've heard is a goodie.

I'm looking for a vocoder (I have a thread about it here: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=31902), so I was closely watching this thread as alot of this rack stuff has a vocoder. I just checked the Akira out and it has one as well. Have you ever used it and would you recommend it? It has a carrier and a modulator input right?

i've used it and still have my ineko, they're more or less the same just in different formats and the desktop version without MIDI. nice fx, never used its vocoder though, have a warp factory and both of the mentioned EHX pedals. know the vocoder's pretty simple though, just pitch, sibilance and sensitivity controls.

Ah, so the vocoder is probably the same as the Metavox from the modfx series (as most of the other effects are modfx effects)? There is one available locally for about 90 euro's (which is still a lot less than the Metavox goes for on ebay), maybe I'll try to talk him down if not for the vocoder I may be able to use it for all the other weirdness.
