i recorded my last EP with it, seriously cool with thicker strings should be AMAZING (for the money)

I got this Reverse Jag awhile back, loaded with some big fat humbuckers and medium 32" scale. It's badass, good for a guitar player like myself, very comfortable.

One extra cool aspect is the reverse headstock allows for 34" scale strings since the low strings actually go to last two tuning posts. Short scale string selection totally blows and I don't have to deal with it thankfully. Threw some nickel DR Low Riders on it, tuned to Dstandard, plays and sounds incredible.

One negative aspect is limited fret access from the 16th and up. I don't really use that portion of the fretboard on bass tho...

If you play your bass more like a guitar, then a bass vi could work for you. Fender just came out with a new one and Schecter has some good (and cheap) models.

If you need a traditional bass, the squier jag ss is a fantastic deal. My only gripe would be the pickups, but you could swap those out later if you're so inclined

Daneclectro Longhorn. Bought my g/f one for her birthday and I think I play it more than she does. Lightweight, punchy sound. Very 60s.

All you gotta do is go into thumb position, homie. GET THEM DB SKILLZ

Yeah, I get the thumb involved on occasion to get at low strings that high up on the board but, u know, generally just say fuck it and find note elsewhere. I know real bass players would probably be turned off by that limited access tho or they'd at least complain about it on TalkBass so thought I'd throw it out there as fair warning haha.

I play with a pick, soooooo...Yeah. No thumb position fer me. I like to play chords and stuff on bass, I know it's not what yer supposed to do. But fuckit. I do what I want.

A bass vi would be awesome, but I dunno if I should be spending that much cash right now...

I'm picking up a Jack Casady bass this week. I like its neck and the varitone switching. The Mikey way mustang is cool looking, but its neck is tiny, and my hand cramped immediately.
When I can justify it, I'm getting an old EB3 for the Jack Bruce/Mike Watt toans.

The Casady seems pretty cool, but it is long scale.

I've always had my eye on that thing, love the look of a Gibson/Epi semi hollow bass. Interested to hear about it.
