I really love the stock squier spacing. All the strings are almost perfectly straight and parallel down the neck.

Shim the neck, raise the bridge. Fixed.

I have two VM Jags, and two VM Jazzies. All four buzzed like mad. Shimmed the necks and raised the bridges - problem solved on all four. Try it, and add Teflon Tape for good measure.
