I like USING reverb more than delay, but I like the infinite repeats and spazzy things you can make a delay do, but I find less use for them.

GUH. CHOICES.

What style of music do you play? I saw that sonidero said you had an Orange amp, which model? If you have EL84's then get a Rat or some variant thereof and I hear that a BE Mantra is a great OD paired with EL84's. I am a huge fan of phasers, try an EQD Grand Orbiter or a Mojo Hand Nebula. If you are into experimenting with sound try a MoogerFooger or some of the Iron Ether stuff. If you want to try a modulated reverb give the Mr Black Supermoon a try. Lastly, try octave down, get a Bluebox, Second Voice or an Octron to thicken up your sound.

Wish I still had mine. It releases the latent evil within you into sonic form.

a looper? :poke: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=30853

reverb is cool (e.g. Ghost Echo), Delay is the bomb (e.g. Disaster Transport Jr.), don't know what you up to...

More fuzz is always good. So check out the dirt stuff by eqd, ss/bs, blackout, dwarfcraft (yes, TGD!), mid-fi, copilot or visit the shark tank....

I should probably respond a bit to all these posts aha.

I'm content with OD/DIST and FUZZ for now - tried a lot out and I'm happy right now with what I have. Basically, I'm set to look in to delay and verb, and possibly some modulation.

I have very little opportunity to test stuff out, so I guess I'll compile ideas and then fuck up Mansons or GAK if I can in the future ;)

My first delay was a DD-3 that I got for like $50 and kept it for quite a while until I wanted more. It was real hard for me to get into delay though. I didn't know what to do with it.

I would start with an EQD Ghost Echo too! They go <$100 on eBay sometimes and they sound great. Which is rare because it seems a lot of the other cheaper reverbs I've used are just terrible. :/

With modulation, I would start with a chorus, really. I flipped my first phaser within days. I just hated it. But I kept my chorus for a long time. You'd less have to worry about wasting money, I think, cause chorus is pretty popular and useable. Not as near as extreme as some phaser. And to me, things are more useable when they're not as extreme.

May I suggest...

Has a delay engine built right into the reverb. It won't do pitch shifting when you change the delay time knob, but can do many many spastic things. Also a pedal you'll want to experiment with a lot, but once you find a nice setting, BOOM presets :)

Maybe not the easiest thing for your first verb or delay pedal, but it is awesome.

Can't go wrong with a Mr. Black Supermoon. You can dial back the mix and decay for some tasteful short verbs...or you can dial everything up for super-ambient pitch-warbling madness
