I was just playing: Basic Audio Fuzz-Stainer > Basic Audio Wildcat > Wren & Cuff Phat Phuk B
Somehow, I do not think my neighbors appreciate ultra-über-high-gain tones.

There's a time and place for everything, but as of late I only really like crystal clean, and raging high gain. I've always been kind of an alien among my rocker brothers and sisters, because no amp was clean enough for me except the twin reverb reissue. And as far as I'm concerned, high gain distortion sounds best through a clean amp.

Yes, as opposed to an AB-Synth or Great Wall it is... I keep the Bloom and Fuzz low and the Starve Un-Starved...

I have a sweet image of you standing by a conveyer belt with all kinds of Amps on it and as they pass by you make increasingly horrible disapproving faces at their lack of Cleanness...

I tend to utilize clean, low gain, and high gain most frequently. I love the contrast between playing with really clean and/or low gain sounds then kicking in a super high gain fuzz and blasting out yo b-hole. AIN'T GOT NO TIME FOR MEDIUM.

the closest i ever get to "low-gain" is running straight into a not-terribly-clean amp. i'm more of a medium-gain guy than a high-gain guy if i understand the OP's structure...i use a Tone Reaper, Sound Shank, Algal Bloom, and 3-knob Great Wall most of the time. the Reaper usually has the Gain ~halfway up, the Shank has the gain most all the way up, the Bloom is always at least halfway up, and the Wall has the gain at about 40%. after a certain level of squarewaving--as distinct to "gain"--the notes lose definition for me.

I really like a mix of stuff, if I am using drive it is usually pretty high gain fuzzy type drive but I also love good cleans
My current dirt on my main board is
Reaper/Blunderbuss/FuzzWar/Black Forest/Mantra/Hartman Rat/Bukowski Drive/Monarch
seems to cover most of what I like

i'd actually like to get something even sicker than the Great Wall. once in awhile you just want to hit the listener with a dumpster.

Kiiiiind of. Mine is always set kinda high. Most of the time these days I play clean or with the Fuck on pretty low so that's my normal setting. Algal and Twosome are way higher gain for change, but my main sound is pretty chill and like 'normal' overdrive.

My cleans are super pristine. I sometimes use my OCD for light grit type stuff. My main stay fuzz is the Way Huge Swollen Pickle, which is high-but-not-super-high gain in my opinion. The my overdriven channel on my Egnater is kind of edging into metal territory but I only run the gain at about 2 o'clock to avoid harshness.
As far as stacking, I find I really don't like it. I don't even like boosting tube amps for lead stuff. Would rather just do phase+delay for solo tones.

i like adding the Distortion+ to the other boxes...its position on the low/medium borderline (IMO) makes it perfect when i want to add a little more hair to an already aggressive tone. this is especially cool with the Great Wall when i use it for a rhythm guitar tone and then add the D+ to push the leads.

I like the Algal > Fuuuck or Fuuuck > Frazz or FIngerprint > Fuuuck (FingerFuck) or Algal > Elements...
Mini (medium with bias rolled back) -> Mini (lowish)
Tone Machine (octave up sizzle) -> Eau Claire Thunder
Devi Ever Legend of Fuzz (12-1 on the texture) -> Devi Ever Aenima (cranked)
I want those two Devis back

Side note: octave up for high neck solo stuff doesn't really do it for me, but riffing with octave up is so trashy and sweet.

However much gain it takes to oscillate.
