My recommendation: Mammoth pancakes.
Yup.

I hate Lava.
That should also be a possibility on the poll.

I use the Planet Waves and buy the pack of three on Amazon for $12 or when I run out and need one in a hurry run to the local music shop. Previously I'd buy the rainbow colored ones and I think they're crap now.

I've just done my board with a lava solderless kit.
Ryan told me what to look for whilst testing them with a multi meter and I was on a winner!
Just make sure to use a sharp knife to cut the cable, I started off using pliers but discovered they were crushing the ends resulting in a poor connection. The ability to cut to any length and have a secure fit was what swung it for lava in my case. They just seemed higher quality than the other options I looked at.

Yeah, I've seen em work for lots of people, but I had cables that I just couldn't get to work - they'd be good until the last screw to really tighten them then they'd short out. With the amount of swearing, those bloody pliers (which you were smart enough to skip), troubleshooting, stabbing my fingers with small bits of wire sticking out etc it ended up being better for my sanity for me to solder my own cables. First few took ages but after 10 or so I got it down to an art haha.
They do have a really good low profile.

Once you get the hang of putting together lava's I love them but there are some random ones that appear to be perfectly made that love to randomly short out, between my two boards I have about 12 cables I made and only 1 connector is sometimes iffy and i know exactly which one it is, before every gig i just pop it out and tighten it up and have no issues. The main reason I stick with them is I've tried others and they seem to have the least amount of high end loss then any other cable I've tried. Plus it matches all my Lava ELC 12'-20' cables

i've never tried lava cables and I REALLY want to, but seriously, $90 for 6 cables?? Cmon...
I think I might try those mammoth ones just because there are no opinions on them yet
edit: this also looks pretty good... i've heard really good things about the monorail

Livewire cables always seem to crap out in less than three months for me. I use whatever cables i can get. I steal patch cables from those little buckets at guitar center or from radio shack. I do not advocate thievery.

Ugh, I could just not figure the Lavas out. I must be a fucking idiot, as none of the ones I made worked. And then I redid them all. And then one of the five kind of worked for a little bit. So I guess I'm in the same boat. Anyone here make/sell soldered patch cables?
