I have a twosome myself and it may be a fuzz for The lonely Island. So much sounds, variety, nasty, br00tz in one Box is just awesome.

Here's another vote for the Twosome from a very satisfied owner. Extremely versatile. A swiss army knife of fuzz it is.

I found a dude selling his VST for $220. Done deal. Paid.
As for dual pedals... I just found the quality of them to appear much better. Fewer connections and cables I feel are a huge upsell because a shit cable could probably really crush tone.
I like the trem on the Janus, and being able to rig it through a looper and alter tones on the fly like a bloody arcade control.
I'm likely very very wrong, but the earthshaker hoof, which is probably one of the more talked about pedals due to Black Keys, seemed personally like too high a price for what it was.
Bands I'd like or tastes: Red Fang, Dinosaur Jr., Truckfighters, QOTSA, Dozer, and lots of thrash like Lich King... but my band won't play any thrash with me. So I lean a lot to 90's one hit wonders.
Ah, and Buckethead, Aqua Velvets... Surf Rock, Stoner Rock, and Thrash Metal primarily.

If you're not sure yet, get a Muff-based pedal that's cheaper, try to mod it, and then figure out where you want to go with your tone from there. (or figure out what you want your tone to be before you mod it, etc.. you get the idea.)

$220 for a VST is a pretty great deal - when I got mine, it pretty much ended my fuzz quest. Any fuzzes I've bought afterwards have been for effect (octave fuzz, oscillating, etc.). The VST is a fucking incredible pedal, and you'll be able to cop all sorts of wooly Muff tones from the Musket side of the pedal.
