This is what worries me about the really vocal phasers, that over-pronounced gurgle that makes you fade in TOO MUCH and then disappear out of a mix. If the resonance is way off on a Grand Orbiter, some frequencies just jump way out front while others die.

SOME AWESOME INPUT SO FAR, THANKS SO MUCH

the 6stage isnt too vocal, its a very nice balance between the clarity of a 4stage and the gloopy vocal of 8 or more
at low res (and slow sweep) it keeps the original tone very well

The Faye Sing is super vocal but still sits really well in a mix. Plus with the range and resonance and mix turned down it can also be very subtle. The versatility is what's so nice about it.

This thread is making me want an infanem Faye

I think one of the things I like best about the whetstone is the ability to boost the signal. Gives my phase some hair down there.

My Bassist Loves my faye. I think faye Sounds Even better the deeper the tone. He Never got Lost in the Mix since he uses it. And fuzz or od before is really intense.
Funny Thing: somehow it Never Sounds Chessy with the faye. I had that Problem with other phasers...

Yeah, the internal volume trimpot on the faye sing was great, had it set to a slight boost to really make the phasing stand out. That option needs to be on more modulation pedals!

How it reacts to fuzz before is HUGE.
I'm leaning heavily towards the Infanem...just seems to have a little more going on, and as peeps have pointed out, probably sound more different than my Grand Orbiter than the Sibling.

The Infanem does great with fuzz before it. That balance knob lets you tailor it just how you like, get intense post-fuzz/dirt phasing or the more subtle pre-fuzz/dirt phase effects. I love that control on the Faye Sing.

i have to say i like it more BEFORE dirt :idk:

but i'm like that... i like Small Stones (Sovtek, Whetstone) after dirt and more pronounced and present phasers (PH-2, Faye) before

i just tried it for the rehearsal and it's awesome :)

I really like both so when I had it I kept some dirt after it and some before. The balance control is cool for making it more present after fuzz, but you can't get the crazy peaks and weirdness of having it before fuzz with higher resonance.

my rule of thumb is modulation/time based effects post-dirt.

That said, the faye sing does it good either place...i just like it better after :thumb:

my general principle is dirt-->phaser and vibrato/chorus-->dirt

Generally I like them after dirt too, but pretty cool to have the option if it sounds good in either place.

it does, but keep in mind that being very present, it can get a bit too much... at least for me :)

BUT i did keep a booster in front of it :!!!:

Too much when in front or after dirt?
