ILF, any advice please on how to replace a Jazzmaster pickup selector switch with a blend knob--is this feasible?
Use this second diagram?

ILF dream rigs: 95% attainable real world setups. Not the archetypal tone snob blues lawyer white glove types for the praisegaze and worship rigs that TGPers would dream up for lil baby Jeebus. I fucking love this place.

Pretty much using it. I need 3-5 guitars minimum to be happy (Bass VI w/synth pickup, 339 Studio, Jaguar HH with synth pickup, regular ol' Jaguar, and realistically a LP). I have thirteen.
Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (with Emi, old version, not current with Celestions), Jazz Chorus, and a Fender Mustang V amp for pure punch. Perfect world, I might swap the Mustang V with one of the ridiculous Roland modelling amps that were out a couple years back.
Effects, what I'm using, there's nothing I *have* to have I'm not using. May get an Eventide harmonizer at some point....but I don't *need* it. If I can't get it with my toys...it probably doesn't exist. Using the typical master pedalboard with Boss RE-20 Space Echo, Godbox Test Pattern from Hell, Godbox 1893 World's Fair fuzz, Basic Audio Lucky Number, Ampeg Scrambler, Fender Blender, Roland Bee Baa, Boss FRV-1 verb, NoisekickFX Guano Loco! custom 3-in-1, a real big box Space Echo. My usual rack, with a Boss GL-100 preamp, a couple Digitech RDS 3.6s, Lexicon Vortex, Alesis Quadraverb+, and Alesis Midiverb II, plus the patched in (effective rack) Boss DD-20 and Digi TimeBender.
For strings, Fender or D'addario stainless 10s for guitar, the much reviled stock Fender/D'addario Bass VI standard set.
Picks, purple 2.0mm Tortex or bust.
Experimental weird free whatever it is today in genreness.

Dream set up
Bass>penis>amp
Somehow I'd need a two headed penis. Not sure if that's a mod I can pull off.

aw fuck i hadn't heard that one before
chuckchuck - it's do-able, i dunno what the appeal is though, if it's a jazzmaster then it would make more sense to use the roller pots for a blend so that you have a greater degree of precision and it doesn't get in the way. my guitar has a blend circuit instead of a rhythm circuit but it's for an extra pickup so i can't really help with wiring.
also, just start a thread in the guitar tech subforum in the event that maybe you seriously want an answer because not every knowledgeable dude here is gonna be clicking on these goddamn necrobumps.

Seems like it would be so rad.

Roller pots would serve the same function and easier to install? We have a winner.
Thanks gunsmith cat.

If you just want a blend on a Jazzmaster/Jaguar, replace the rhythm circuit as mentioned, steal a wiring diagram from a Classic Player Jag HH. Profit!

in my case the radness depends on how often you would use a pickup behind the bridge (admittedly not all the time here

) but since i always taped over the rhythm circuit on my jazzmaster because i set my normal tone almost identical to it and would always accidentally knock it on and take ages to realise, using those roller pots for other shit is the way to go
i was actually tossing up between the behind the bridge pickup idea, and using the same control scheme to toggle and blend a contact microphone under the pickguard. the problem is dealing with volume drops in a passive configuration.
if guitars didn't usually look weird without them i'd totally use roller pots instead of normal master volume and tone, too. they're awesome.

i did not know those had a stock blend circuit. that's awesome. makes sense, rhythm circuit with humbuckers seems kinda weird.
